Qwaq's Secure Virtual Workspaces Power Online Conferences, Trainings and Events

LearningTimes Selected Qwaq Forums to Provide Easy to Use, Powerful 3D Meeting Places

NEW YORK (Virtual Worlds Conference 2008, Booth #61) – April 3, 2008 – Qwaq, Inc., the creators of virtual workspaces for the enterprise, today announced that LearningTimes has selected Qwaq Forums to provide secure, 3D virtual meeting places for online conferences, trainings and other events. LearningTimes, which produces online conferences, communities, events and webcasts, selected Qwaq Forums because of the product's ability to easily and efficiently provide online virtual meeting places where people can enter, collaborate, learn and network.

LearningTimes, whose clients include major education institutions, nonprofits and corporate trainers, used Qwaq Forums within the Illinois Online Conference for Teaching and Learning (IOC), which was held February 13 to 15. In addition to using Qwaq Forums as an alternative to virtual classrooms, LearningTimes has begun pilot programs with library, museum, and public education institutions, and plans to host an entire online conference in Qwaq Forums later this year.

"We've experimented with virtual technologies for more than two years. We selected Qwaq Forums for real-time collaboration, learning and networking because of its flexibility, scalability and ease of use," said John Walber, CEO of LearningTimes. "It's not only a great teaching and meeting tool, but we can train people and get them up and running and working in a Qwaq Forum in about five minutes."

Qwaq Forums was designed specifically for enterprise use. "From a business perspective, Qwaq gives us a much more realistic way to answer the market need for 3D in the education and training spaces, which is what our clients want," Walber continued. "The fact that you can have an avatar that allows you to talk, gesture and sketch makes interacting in Qwaq Forums like dropping a real live person into a 3D world."
